Imperial Beer V London Pride: 0-1 to London Pride. Imperial is a very pleasant refreshing light lager that has a nice aroma of lightly toasted malt with some corn. The pour produced a lovely clear straw colour with a decent looking frothy head. Looks the part, smells the part. On taste there is an interesting creamy aftertaste. Overall, Imperial Beer is a standard, good tasting lager. So how would all that fare against London Pride and its famous amber reddish ale. London Pride also had a taste of light caramel in it, with some earthy hops and a mild bitter aftertaste. I really liked the complexity of its flavours that buzz around your taste buds . Both beers were very easy to drink and had some interesting flavouring going on with them, but I will give the win to London Pride, for having that little more bite in it, albeit it should as its a proper ale, but it went down well, and is a great brew for watching the football. Imperial tastes, smells, and looks like what a good lager should be like: Sweet aromas, clear golden colour, with good flavours and a nice aftertaste of dry corn that lingers. It’s a beer that’s not going to blow your mind but it does the job, it will quench that thirst. Birra Moretti, is typically Italian. Comes in a lovely looking bottle with a logo that stands out, the pour shows a fine clear lager, and the aroma is a rustic smell of toasted barley and some hops. It looks and smells the part. For the taste there is a light honey flavour and a small hop aftertaste. A nice balanced and smooth beer. But I give the victory to Imperial, it is more of a beer for a game, whereas Birra might be more suitable to enjoy sitting down with some food, probably Italian. London Pride V Birra Moretti: London Pride wins 1-0. The complexity of London Pride and the variety of flavours makes drinking it a thrill especially when served cold. Moretti was good but on the day London Pride hit the spot (Unlike Rooney I might add!) Click on links below for full beer information and reviews
