San Miguel V Victoria Bitter: 0-2 Comfortable win in the end for VB. As nice as San Miguel is and all its no match for a strong VB in the hand, especially when there is sports on the tele! VB’s aftertaste is delicious and wins out. San Miguel is a fine beer, but I am not in Spain and the weather is not so hot and so the mood doesn’t fit. San Miguel is a lovely golden clear lager that goes down smooth and has a nice soft aftertaste, but up against a strong rival like VB it’s no match. VB with its golden pour and sweet malt aroma wins it with its bitter unique aftertaste. Click on links below for full beer information and reviews.
Heineken V Nomade Scotch Ale: 1-0 Victory to Heineken at the death. The easy drinking lager comes out in this keenly fought battle. Its lovely looking appearance and aroma is what all beers should aspire to: clear golden colour, good head, good lacing with a pleasent smell of yeast percolating through the nose. The taste is smooth and refreshing, of a quite distinctive yeast flavor with a tiny hint of hops. It’s a good beer for watching the football. Nomade Scotch Ale, on the other hand, a good performer, with a good head that stayed well, with it interesting aromas tasted good, but was a tad bit too strong for the day that was in it. The smoked malt taste with a bitter aftertaste from the stout just lost out to Heineken and its unique flavoured lager. Click on links below for full beer information and reviews.
San Miguel V Nomade Blonde Ale: 0-2 Tried the Nomade Blonde Ale this time, it was very tasty and not so bitter that I could enjoy it in the good weather that we had. The ale had a very balanced taste that included grains, yeast, citrus and fruit flavours. Quite an interesting mix for an ale but it was damn easy to drink and overall a very enjoyable ale experience. San Miguel, also quite tasty and easy to drink on a lovely hot afternoon, with its lovely clear golden appearance, just lost it to Nomade in the flavouring department which is always going to happen when you pit an ale against a light beer. Victoria Bitter V Mongozo Fruit Beer: 2-0 Comfortable victory for VB. Mongozo is a lovely sweet tasting fruit beer, with a tinge of malt aftertaste that settles well. But VB wins with its famous creamy aftertaste which the more I drink of the more I am getting to really like it. Click on links below for full beer information and reviews.
Victoria Bitter V Nomade Scotch Ale: 0-1 Close call but will give it to Nomade, was that bit stronger in the overall taste. VB had an interesting aftertaste, but Nomade gets the victory for its stronger alcohol content, which had a good kick near the end. Click on links below for full beer information and reviews.
San Miguel V Heineken: 0-1 Heineken with its distinct yeast aroma and taste wins out over the Spanish pale lager.Click on links below for full beer information and reviews
