Kronenbourg 1664 V Feldschlösschen Stark Strong Pale Lager : 2-0. Kronenbourg won this close contest mostly due to its better flavouring and taste, and also it has a better appearance. The appearance is a lovely clear amber colour, with a nice frothy white head. The appearance has the wow factor, it really entices. Feldschlösschen Stark Strong Pale Lager, with its nice shiny can, is sweeter and goes down well, a good session beer. It is also that bit stronger to drink, the 7% kicking in. But Kronenbourg has an interesting complex flavour to it. A mixture of different flavours from fruit, sweet caramel malts, honey. All in all a nice crafted beer and quite an enjoyable drinking experience. So 2-0 to the French beer here in this top of the table beer clash. PreGame:
Switzerland definitely used their get out of jail card in the first game, with their late goal. Was fun all the same.
Over all though, I thought they laboured in that game, and struggled to mount any decent attack, especially in the first half.
Stocker, particularly, was awful in the first half, couldnt get in any crosses at all. Drmic who? Drmic went missing in the first half, never seen him all game.
So taken all that into account one must give Ottmar Hitzfeld a huge amount of credit. He took off Stoker and Drmic and the two subs he brought on scored the goals and changed the game. He also changed the system to be more attacking. That’s how you manage a team, well done Ottmar.
So how will they fare against what looked like a very impressive French team. They will definitely have to up their performance if they want to get a result. Keep it tight at the back and break well on the counter attack, don’t waste set pieces, and they might just have a chance.
France: They survived the Honduras game with no serious injury worries which is a result of some kind. They also played well in parts, scored some nice goals and put Honduras to the sword relatively easy. Today we see a totally different proposition. How will France get on against a well drilled defence. Switzerland will surely give them a better test?
Benzema is off the mark and should get a goal or two in the next few games. Will he score today though?

Raymond Domenech was a great laugh all the same, wasn’t he? All the stars in the sky telling him not to bring Benzema to South Africa. Genius. I wonder is he still employed as a coach of the beautiful game. Muppet.
This is some performance from the French, putting out a real marker down to the rest. Le Bleus are back, and want to win back their trophy. This French team are not only exciting to watch but are a team. They genuinely seem happy to be playing for the jersey and Deschamps has moulded some strong work ethic and a collective team spirit that wins.
Giroud was brilliant, great headed goal, like a bullet and Benzema is going to get that golden boot if he keeps performing like this. Imagine if they had Ribery in the team. Wow!
At the back they look solid enough and in goals Hugo Lloris is a very much underrated goalkeeper. Apart from the Swiss free kick he was solid.
The Swiss I guess were deflated after letting in another goal in less than 66 seconds. They did very well to score two goals in the second half, but one would hope that goal difference wont play a part for them in the last round of games. They are -2 at the moment.
Behrami was back to his usual self, giving the ball away as quick as possible. He really isnt a good footballer at all.
What is up with the Swiss? Tattoos to the hilt, the silly haircuts and then that final goal celebration by Xhaka. Christ are they really that boring in Switzerland? Valbuena showed how you celebrate a goal. Magnifique!
France have to play Ecuador next, which they should comfortably. Up for the Swiss is a game they can win handy enough as well. But be warned it was Honduras that knocked them out of the last world cup, so it could be a long night for the Swiss
