Croatia V Nigeria
(Synopsis in red)
Pregame bets:
Nigeria are a team that generally starts slow. Up against a very strong Croatia team they might get punished for this. Modric will run the show from midfield and, with a team of decent strikers, I expect Croatia to just nudge this game, possibly score in the last ten minutes or so to nick it.

Fuck Croatia, Jesus they had a great chance in the end to get the third, Mateo Kovacic should have squared it, the greedy bastard.
Beers: Group C of Beer World Cup:
Ožujsko, Croatia’s most popular beer will be up against Guinness Special Export is Nigeria’s favourite drink.
v
Close battle, like Guinness Export, but was really enjoying the Ožujsko, was smooth and went down well, and for that reason I will give Croatia a narrow win here.
PreGame:
Nigeria are a team I always enjoy watching in the World Cup. Every time they produce a few stand out games at the games. They are always a big psychical team but with bags of technical ability. And with this in mind I fully expect them to give Croatia one hell of a battle.
Ex Chelsea head, John Obi Mikel is the captain of a squad that perhaps doesn’t have as many big names as of previous squads, but its made up of a lot of up and coming young players, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho for example, that play more as a team and a willing to lay it on the line for their German coach Gernot Rohr who has given them their chance to shine at this years big event.
Will that be enough against Croatia? I dont think so, Croatia play beautiful football that is easy on the eye, and all in a good fun free spirit that is endearing.
These days Real Madrid star, Luka Modrić is the player every one looks out for, but if you scan through their squad you can see they have many players who ply their trade in the top leagues of Europe. Their midfield is particularly strong, with Modrić as mentioned, but also Ivan Rakitić of Barca, and Marcelo Brozović from Inter and with Mario Mandžukić still banging the goals in for club and country, they can beat anybody on their day.
In a close game I fancy Croatia to just about nick it today, probably 2-1, or 1-0, and start their campaign with a hard fought three points.

Bit of a nothing game, Croatia just did enough to get the win while Nigeria didn’t really have anything to give at all. But in their victory Croatia also exposed their lack of depth as they didn’t play well at all. The game was pretty dull, nothing much to report at all. Croatia’s first goal was due to a bit of good fortune, while their second was a penalty.
I would worry about Nigeria in the next game, I wonder where their goals will come from, as for Croatia they have to play Argentina next, knowing a draw should be enough for them to get through to the second round.
