Croatia V Cameroon Fifa World Cup 2014
After match synopsis in red!!
Pregame bets:
Croatia to win 4/6
Red card in game 12/5
Croatia to score a peno 6/1
Get in. Two great winning bets there, Figured a man would be sent off as a lot of the African teams are tough tacklers and Croatia do like a roll on the turf from time to time. Proved correct.

Croatia:
Big game tonight for the Croatian goalkeeper. I bet he will be really nervous every time the ball is whipped into his box.
Croatia also gave the ball away very cheaply at times against Brazil and kind of asked to be punished for that wasteful possession. Olic caused more hassle to his own defence than the Brazil back four. Croatia were set up very badly, no holding midfielder. I really feel that the Brazilian match is a game they could have won easily.
Sure it wasn’t a penalty, and also Croatia looked to have scored a legit goal. But they still had plenty of the ball to cause damage, esp from the 46th to the 60 minute when Brazil were there for the taking. So hopefully tonight they will have a bit more bite in attack and score their first goal of this world cup.
Tonight its not Brazil, its Cameroon. A team who are in disarray and a very disjointed at the moment. Croatia will probably play a patient enough game, as they don’t want to lose tonight. But if they harry away keep plugging balls into the box, and maintain their discipline, they should beat Cameroon no problem.
Cameroon:
Against Mexico Cameroon played with six defensive players. Cameroon with the clear height and physical advantage should have taken the game to the Mexicans rather than just plodding along waiting for chances to magically appear.
To be honest I have no idea how they will play tonight. Samuel Eto is out injured and I didn’t see a whole lot in the last game to suggest that they are going to cause Croatia too many problems. I do bet that they will take a lot of long range shots in an effort to get a spectacular goal, no intricate passing game as its not in their make up.
Cameroon, good luck against Croatia as you will need it!
A more detailed review on Croatia here and on Cameroon here
Just knew Croatia would win this. Thought it might be a little bit tighter but Croatia went for it from the start and were helped to victory in no small part due to Cameroon’s lack of defending at the back and the red card for Song. The Cameroon goalkeeper was also very nervous dropping shots regularly.
Mandzukic was my man of the match, making a huge difference to the team, chipping in with two goals and his general all round play was good.
Pity about Cameroon. I bet they now regret playing for a draw against Mexico in the first game? Still though, they can now look forward to playing Brazil in a world cup, and try and bow out in style.
For Croatia this was an easy victory, but more importantly a huge confidence boost for their do or die next game against Mexico. With Mandzukic they have a big chance of making the next round.
