Who is set to win the battle of the beers? Skol V Corona? Who will quench the thirst, set the mood, get me in the right spirit?

SKOL V Corona: Skol wins 1-0. Evenly matched battle since both beers taste great on a hot summers day served cold, straight from the fridge. Both beers are refreshingly easy to drink, not heavy and go down well. I gave it to Skol as its appearance and aroma are that bit better, and with such a tight contest its the small margins that will win this tie! Click here for full beer information and reviews
PreGame:
Brazil got the win in the first game, mostly thanks to the ineptitude of the referee. Will they need the help from tonight’s ref? Well luckily for Brazil, Mexico are up next, a team that also have a pretty dodgy back line. Watch Mexico crumble tonight with long crosses in their box, its going to be very interesting to watch their back four, I can see a few free headers tonight for an easy goal or two.
Neymar will surely get on the score sheet tonight. He will also have the pressure off his back, second game he can relax a bit more, and enjoy his football. I am also looking forward to seeing Oscar again, his runs down the wing were one of the main reasons Brazil did manage to score the other day.
Mexico are a team who at least like to play football. Parking the bus and playing for a draw just isn’t in their make up. So they will give it a go against Brazil and with Dos Santos they will have a few chances. Remember Mexico did have two perfect goals called for offside in the last game, so they can get the ball in the net frequently.
Two teams a bit weak in defence means lots of goals. It should be a cracking game so lets just hope the officials are on the ball tonight.

Want to say a little bit about the crowds. The national anthems were amazing, great in the end the whole place singing with pride, very stirring for the old soul. Most of the crowds at this years world cup are noisy, boisterous, fun, and loud. Such a contrast to the last world cup with those awful awful vuvezuela’s buzzing out any sound from our TV screens.
Just another point, notice that a majority of the Brazilian crowd are white. Seems the ordinary black Brazilian is missing out on the real live experience from the stadium, which is a shame. If you have followed Channel Fours excellent reporting on the world cup, and seen the brilliant short piece they done on “
Ok to the game.
What do you say about FRED!! Slow and immobile. Anytime I have ever seen him he has always played like this. Imagine, how can he make the Brazilian team? Is there really such a dearth of good Brazilian strikers in such a large footballing nation?
And the joke of a manager, Scolari, who already had his excuses in even before the game had started, with his Mexico rock in shoe nonsense talk. You are Brazil at home in the World Cup taking on Mexico. That’s not a tough game to win! Then in game he takes off Ramires at half time, his big tactical move. Brazil with no blocking midfielder gave Mexico acres of space in the centre of the pitch and about a dozen good chances to score. He also left leaves Fred on the field until the 67th minute!! So thats two and a half hours of football and the fool still thinks Fred can show us some magic. Well if he broke a sweat that might be a small miracle in itself.
Marcelo great at bombing forward but pretty ineffective in the mould of Roberto Carlos. Maybe he should be started higher up the field?
Neymar had another decent game and was very unlucky not to score, but that was down to the brilliance of the Mexican goalkeeper. Guillermo Ochoa stopping everything that came his way. He gave a very assured performance and its crazy to believe that he is currently without a club, having left his French team, Ajaccio, just before the world cup was to begin. His was one of the stand out performances of the world cup so far.
It goes without saying that the Mexican keeper was man of the match, but I would also like to give an honourable mention to Rafael Márquez. I put my hand up, I thought he might struggle in this world cup, due to age, but he was magnificent in this game. Holding the line perfectly, and showing us that he can play like the good old days of yesteryear. Forgive me Márquez I shouldn’t have doubted you.
Brazil are not a good team at all, they look very very ordinary and they will struggle onwards as its not going to get any better for them. With a little more composure in from of goal Mexico could have won this game. Will this come back to haunt them in the next game against Croatia?
Brazil are lucky now that they have Cameroon as the last game. As bad as they are at the moment they surely cant mess this one up. What about a Fred hat-trick to prove all his doubters wrong?
Music to get you in the mood
