ThisDrinkingLife and The World Cup:Australia
Australia, the lowest ranked nation in the competition, will have an up field task if they want to get out of the group.
If you look down through their team you can see a lot of journey men playing for a lot of average teams from Preston North end to Shandong In China. To put it simply , Australia, don’t have the players to make any impression in this world cup. Tim Cahill is still around, but now at 34 you would reckon he cant lift the team as he so used to do in the past.
One thing that Australia wont lack is effort, and in every game I am sure they will try their damnest to be competitive, but if they don’t have the players in a very tough group, they will struggle. Against the Wold Champions, against the Dutch, against a very sprity Chilean team, they will do well not to get beat in all of their three games. Here is hoping Australia wont get well beaten in their Wold Cup games, but I fear they might as they were already beaten 6-0 by both Brazil and France last year.
