Spain, again?

ThisDrinkingLife and The World Cup: Spain

SpainSpain, can they win the World Cup again? It definitely is a strong possibility. They are very strong in all areas of the field; one of the best goalkeepers in the world, a strong defence, a creative midfield, and strikers who know how to score goals for fun. In my opinion they are this years most complete team.

CasillasPeople are worried about Iker Casillas in goals, as this season he was used intermittently by Real, but even if he is not fully fit, the other two keepers on the bench aint too bad either, Pepe Reina and David De Gea.

In defence they are without Puyol this time, but if truth be told he was ageing badly and getting caught out a lot, he had lost his edge. Still a strong defence that has the ability to quickly counterattack .

santiago_CazorlaMidfield. Is there anything we don’t already know about Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso and the perfect impact sub, Fabregas? Would be nice to see a bit more of Santi Cazorla during this World Cup? overall I feel they definitely have the best midfield in the competition, with Germany a close second.

Fernando_TorresWith such a great midfield putting the ball on a plate for the strikers, there really isn’t any excuse for the forward line not to get amongst the goals. Villa was top scorer last time but he might have competition this time from Diego Costa, the Brazilian who chose to don the Spanish shirt, that is if he can overcome his niggling hamstring injury. And if games get too tight Spain can always bring on Torres to mix it up.

A team full of quality players and the only thing that surprises me is that you can still get decent odds of Spain lifting the cup, 13/2 at some bookies.Vicente_del_Bosque

I predict that they will win the World Cup again, and make Vicente Del Bosque become only the second coach in history to win successive World Cups. Not bad for a bluffer. Maybe he will take over the Celtic job part time?
