Spain V Chile World Cup 2014

Spain V Chile Fifa World Cup 2014

After match synopsis in red!!

bets

Lets keep the wining form going

Pregame bets:

Chile over 2.5 yellow cards at 1/1,
Spain to win and both teams to score 2/1
Over 2.5 goals 3/5
Iniesta at 11/4 a/t scorer

Got this one totally wrong, Chile surprised me again. Was a tad unlucky that Iniesta didnt score, Bravo pulled off a great save to stop that bet for me. Anyway onwards and upwards.

San Miguel V Nomade Blonde Ale: 0-2 Tried the Nomade Blonde Ale this time, it was very tasty and not so bitter that I could enjoy it in the good weather that we had. The ale had a very balanced taste that included grains, yeast, citrus and fruit flavours. Quite an interesting mix for an ale but it was damn easy to drink and overall a very enjoyable ale experience. San Miguel, also quite tasty and easy to drink on a lovely hot afternoon, with its lovely clear golden appearance, just lost it to Nomade in the flavouring department which is always going to happen when you pit an ale against a light beer. Click on links below for full beer information and reviews.

PreGame:

Chile: Sánchez and Valdívia were immense in the first game against Australia but wilted badly in the second half. They will have to  raise their game again against the World Champions tonight. They will get chances, but can they score? Just maybe.

For Chile to get a result tonight their defence has to be a lot tighter. The team is also very suspect down the flanks and not so hot in the air. Can Spain exploit this weakness, could Torres be the man for this?

Spain: The Spanish got a right hiding against the Dutch, so they are wounded and need to restore some pride tonight.

CasillasKey question is what team will Vicente del Bosque put out. It looks like he wont drop Casillas which is outrageous. Sentiment doesn’t win games.  The team should also have at least two strikers playing. No point in the midfield playing great passing football if there is no one in the box to put the ball away. That worked to an extent in the last few years, but wont work this year. Come on Bosque make the right decisions!

It was difficult for Spain to beat Chile last time round, isnt any easier this time either. But the only thing going for Spain here is that Chile are not too hot in defence. They will give away chances. Come on Spain dont make a mess of it tonight!

A more detailed review on Spain here and on Chile  here

Casillas not dropped! Well talk about the bleeding obvious. It was no surprise to see him let in another clanger after not catching a ball or even to thump it away to safety, but no just hit it back for Aránguiz to score. Tsk.

And no big changes in this game. Vicente del Bosque is a muppet, a thick. If you look and see who was on the bench and who started there is a world of a difference. David Villa, Fernando Torres, David de Gea, Cecs Fábregas, Xavi, and Cazorla all sitting on the bench, but yeah Busquets will win you the game Vicente! And David Silva is a poor mans Xavi, has no strength and tends to run around in circles. I fancied Spain for the world cup, but not the teams that Bozque was sending out.

Diego_CostaAs for Diego Costa. Had heard a lot about this striker, but hadnt seen a whole lot of him. I generally go to football matches over watching them on the box, so I wasn’t aware of his abilities. I am now. He is rubbish. He played 126 minutes of World Cup action and failed to muster a single shot on target. What was he doing on for so long! Bizarre.

Vicente_del_Bosque_Bosque should go. His inaction worked for him before but didn’t work at all this time around. Spain still have a good team of players but now need a new man to get the best out of them. Many are calling this the end of Spain as a top team, I don’t buy that. They will be back make no doubt about that.

chileThe Chilean support once again was excellent, and lifted their team throughout. The team were brilliant going forward and are box office stuff to watch. Their goals were very well taken, particularly the first one which was a brilliant team effort. Vargas, Alexis Sanchez, Vidal and Gutierrez are some team, and I have no doubt that they will give Brazil or Croatia/Mexico a sleepless night thinking of how to stop Chile and their very fast counterattacking football. We will see how they play against a strong Dutch team, but that Dutch team also has a few problems in defence, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Chile score the odd goal against the Netherlands.

Spain take on Australia with only pride to play. Costa should play, and show us something we haven’t seen so far from him, a shot on goal please!
